DESCRIPTION:Vote Forward Online Gathering – Join me for three events before the November elections. One small effort for democracy\, each other\, and the planet. \nWe all know at this point that we’re at a vital time in our country. While I’m a strong supporter of the separation of church and state\, I think it’s an illusion to separate “spirituality” from ordinary life. How we express ourselves\, not only in intentions\, meditations and prayers\, but in concrete actions is an expression of spirituality. The Dalai Lama famously said that his religion is kindness. Kindness is an attitude and an action. How we hold ourselves energetically now is as important as always\, and how we take practical steps now is crucial. Let’s take nothing for granted. \nExercising our right to vote is extraordinarily important. One of the ways I’ve found to help with the effort to encourage and support others to vote is through the organization Vote Forward. It doesn’t tell people how to vote\, but encourages them to vote (through personalized letters). The process is easy. \nI thought it might feel more like a community thing if I invited anyone who cared to to join me on Zoom and we can do it together. You’d need to go to Vote Forward and set up your account and follow their instructions (which are simple)\, to get your list of voters. You provide envelopes\, stamps etc. I’m not going to be teaching anything or doing any meditations\, just hanging out and writing letters. We can chat or be silent together.
