DESCRIPTION:Part of the regular series of Shamanism Without Borders gatherings. \nShamanism Without Borders is a community working to provide ethical tending when there is a crisis that faces our communities. This community is comprised of people who can work collectively\, and respond quickly\, to natural disasters and other acute events\, and also more chronic issues like pollution and other forms of suffering to humans\, animals\, plants\, and land. It’s an intentional and clear process that allows us to be of service in our own unique ways of working shamanically as guided by the helping spirits\, and also having some checks to make sure that we are not invested in outcomes or too attached emotionally. \nThese will either be call in ceremonies where I will lead you through the process\, or virtual gatherings that you can do independently in your own space while others are working on the same issue. \nToday’s ceremony will be virtual. \nThe theme for the gathering is Seeing the Dignity in All Beings. \nThere is no charge. \nTo fully participate in the ceremony you’ll want to have some knowledge of\, and experience with\, shamanic practice\, especially a strong relationship with your helping spirits. These aren’t instructional sessions; we are getting right to the work. It is part of a series of lectures on the Principles and Practices of Alternative/Complementary Medicine\, and is held at the UNC Medical Center. DESCRIPTION:I was incredibly pleased with the group for the spring version of this retreat! We created wonderful space together and I can’t wait to see who and what fall brings. I’m excited about the new ceremonies we will be working with. Hope you can join! \nThis weekend will be about sinking deeper into practice\, experience\, community and respite. Although we will use specific methods that you can take home with you\, the focus of this weekend is less on learning methods and more on having experiences. We will create ceremony together\, we will work with the elements\, we will process individually and in pairs and groups. We will connect to our sources of spiritual guidance and healing to help manage stress\, and bring peace and balance to our lives. We will reflect conceptually and practically on how we can serve in ways that feel sustainable and emotionally feasible. We will nourish ourselves and each other. \nShamanic journeying experience is helpful but not required. On September 14th I’m holding a Shamanic Journeying class if you want to get some experience. \n  \n \nRetreat Topics \n\ndisconnecting to reconnect – as research increasingly shows\, our connection to technology is causing some trouble. DESCRIPTION:I was incredibly pleased with the group for the spring version of this retreat! We created wonderful space together and I can’t wait to see who and what fall brings. I’m excited about the new ceremonies we will be working with. Hope you can join! \nThis weekend will be about sinking deeper into practice\, experience\, community and respite. Although we will use specific methods that you can take home with you\, the focus of this weekend is less on learning methods and more on having experiences. We will create ceremony together\, we will work with the elements\, we will process individually and in pairs and groups. We will connect to our sources of spiritual guidance and healing to help manage stress\, and bring peace and balance to our lives. We will reflect conceptually and practically on how we can serve in ways that feel sustainable and emotionally feasible. We will nourish ourselves and each other. \nShamanic journeying experience is helpful but not required. On September 14th I’m holding a Shamanic Journeying class if you want to get some experience. \n  \n \nRetreats Topics \n\ndisconnecting to reconnect – as research increasingly shows\, our connection to technology is causing some trouble. Time away from our devices is time to reset and recommit to what is meaningful to each of us\npersonal rejuvenation – refueling and soaking up healing and support from the spirits and each other\nceremony – creating and performing ceremonies together to focus on some specific outcomes of your choosing\, and also on shifting/creating new energy in our lives\nworking with the elements and nature – deepening our spiritual connection for healing and restoration\ncreating community – expanding our personal and collective networks of like-minded people to strengthen the web of light that we are a part of locally and universally\nalthough this weekend is not about methods per se\, much of what we do together\, such as the ceremonial work\, you will be able to replicate at home and add to your personal spiritual tool kit\n\nSpace is limited. \nPlease note this is not a residential retreat.
