I’m actually not going to delve into an intellectual discussion about happiness, dissecting and analyzing it to pieces. Sometimes we feel it, sometimes we don’t. We all seek it, striving for it in different ways throughout the course of our lives. Sometimes we give up. Sometimes that’s when it finds us.
As you might know already, today has been designated by the United Nations as the International Day of Happiness 2014. I hope you are happy today. At least, I hope you feel moments of happiness, or tend to yourself in ways that bring you joy or comfort, which can lead to happiness.
For some suggestions about celebrating this day, I’ll point you to an article by Kellie Edwards in the Huffington Post titled 10 Happy Ways to Celebrate the International Day of Happiness. Some are what you would expect, but I appreciated numbers 3 and 4, and wrestle with 9.
My own tip for the day…download Pharrell William’s super catchy “I’m Happy.” I’ve been annoying my daughter by dancing to it recently… a lot. 🙂
